In good old Oracle Forms, we have this lovely feature called folders, whereby end users can create their own custom search criteria. One simple example could be, lets say the Payables manager needs to view all the outstanding invoices greater than USD 50000. In OA Framework, the equivalent to folders is User Level Personalization. Personalization link does not appear despite setting profile |

There is a slight undocumented feature in OA Framework Personaliziations.
Requirement You need to enable a personalization link against a user, by setting profile option “Personalize Self-Service Defn”. Action taken by you You went into the System Administrator responsibility and assigned a value of Yes to profile option “Personalize Self-Service Defn” for desired user. However, user reports that they still can not see Personalization links. Also, you notice that it is quite random, as in some cases, you do notice that personalization link appears straightaway after setting that profile option.

In this article, I would like to explain the different levels at which defaulting can take place in OA Framework. There are instances when you try to default a value into a field in OA Framework page, but you may notice that defaulting just does not take effect. Hence it becomes important to understand the defaulting concept/architecture in OA Framework. In a nutshell, there are at least 8 levels at which defaults can take place into an OA Framework screen. |
